The Cairo Queen

If anyone knows anything about me it’s that I love shooting drag performers and Cairo was certainly no exception. I’m always eager to work with new Queens so going in I was super pumped. I had heard about Cairo being in the local Nashville drag scene and when she reached out to me to book a shoot, I was ecstatic.

Having just come off from Play Louisville’s ‘Drag Me To Fame’ competition at just 20 years old and having been doing drag for under a year, Cairo exceeded all of my expectations of a newcomer and much to my surprise, this was her first professional shoot! She showed up painted, well prepared and knew exactly what poses to strike before getting in front of the camera. The music started, the fan came on and we got to work. Shooting with Cairo was so fun, so easy and so effortless! We’ve already set up another shoot so stay on the look out for more to come from her!

Nicolas Scheuer and The Nashville Ballet

Hey all! Read on to hear about my day with Nashville’s very own Romeo, Nicolas Scheuer of the Nashville Ballet!

Going into this shoot, I had zero knowledge of dance or ballet, but boy was I excited! I was asked by Out & About Nashville if I could get a cover shot for their upcoming September issue to which I agreed and set a date to shoot.

On shoot day, Nicolas Scheuer was just a month away from hitting the stage of TPAC donned as Romeo Montague in the Nashville Ballet’s production of Shakespeares tragedy, ‘Romeo and Juliet’. When my assistant and I arrived, we were greeted and given a tour of the facility (everyone was very welcoming) and then shown to our designated rehearsal space where we had just 30 minutes to set-up, an hour to shoot and 30-minutes to break down. Our limited time was due to Nic’s super tight rehearsal schedule so we were just happy to snag him for a bit haha.

Nicolas was a natural in front of the camera and an absolute pleasure to work with! His dedication focus was so amazing to watch and he was able to hit every pose as called for, repeatedly, without missing a beat. Nick Mullikin, the ballet’s artistic director, was there to give dance instruction and approve of Nic’s posture and overall images. For an hour straight, Nicolas leaped and bounded without tiring or taking a break. The way he took direction and was able to instantly give us all of the shots and poses we needed was just astounding.

A huge thank you to The Nashville Ballet and Nicolas Scheuer (Follow him on Instagram HERE) for an awesome shoot and for putting on a wonderful production this past weekend. Thank you to Out & About Nashville for the opportunity to shoot your cover story. If you haven’t already, be sure to pick up your copy of this months issue on newsstands now!

Pet Envy - “One of the most fun live bands to come out of Nashville in years”

I recently worked with one of Nashville’s craziest and coolest up-and-coming bands, Pet Envy.

Dubbed “One of the most fun live bands to come out of Nashville in years” by NATIVE Nashville, Pet Envy is a pop-rock band based in Nashville, TN consisting of Shelbi Albert (vocals), Jake Diggity (vocals, guitar), Jordan Klatt (keys, synth), and Matthew Singler (drums).

The creative fuel and energy that Shelbi and Jake brought to this shoot was beyond words. We had so many well established ideas and concepts going in and as soon as they got to the studio, my job was made easy, fun and enjoyable!

You can check out their latest singles “Rerun” and “Slower” both available now on all streaming platforms!
